Drivers Scotland & Bates employ 9 full and 7 part time drivers.
Training Drivers trained in on-going CPC modules and have completed training in Manual Handling, Digital Tachograph Operation, Customer Care, The School Run, SAFED, Dealing With Emergencies, Drivers’ Hours & Tachograph Rules, Safer London Driving, Road Traffic Laws, People First.
Maintenance In house maintenance carried out in purpose built workshop managed by Richard Bates, Partner. External repair services carried out by main Volvo Agent as and when necessary. Vehicles safety inspected every 4 weeks.

Formed in 1945 by ‘Ted’ Scotland and ‘Bob’ Bates, the company comprised of a taxi and a charabanc and transported mainly schoolchildren and farm workers. Over the years the company has grown to its current size of 17 vehicles, transporting a variety of clients and is run today by husband and wife team Richard and Georgina Bates (Richard is ‘Bobs’’ son). The company was recently joined by their son Clive in a mainly administrative role.
